Heather Blue, assistant professor, and Amanda Klein, assistant professor, were interviewed for the WDSE/WRPT six-part TV miniseries on "Opioids: Crisis in the Northland" and are featured in Episode 1: Tracing an Epidemic – The Roots of Opioid Use and Abuse, which aired December 6, 2018.

Blue is also featured in Episode 2: Addicted – Stories of the Fall, which aired December 13, 2018.

L. R. Mahon, A. N. Hawthorne, J. Lee, Blue, and Laura Palombi, assistant professor, had their article, “Assessing pharmacy student experience with, knowledge of and attitudes towards harm reduction: illuminating barriers to pharmacist-led harm reduction,” published in the Harm Reduction Journal. 2018 Nov 16; 15(1):5.

Jacob Brown, assistant professor, presented "Ethical Considerations in Pharmacogenomic Testing" at the St. Luke's Biomedical Ethics Conference: Ethics of Genetic Testing, December 5, 2018, in Duluth, Minn.

Gardner Lepp, education program specialist 2, and Kerry Fierke, associate professor, presented "Talking Back: What Effective Feedback Looks and Feels Like" to St. Luke’s Hospital pharmacists, December 11, 2018, in Duluth, Minn.

Fierke and Palombi had their article, “Utilizing a multi-step consensus-building process to create a shared departmental definition of community engagement,” published in Innovations in Pharmacy 2018;9(4):Article 12. Acknowledgements: The authors gratefully acknowledge the dedication and support of the faculty and staff of the Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, including the members of the community engagement leadership team: Grant Anderson, associate professor and department head; Tim Stratton, professor; Paul Ranelli, professor; Karen Bastianelli, associate professor; and Mark Schneiderhan, associate professor.

J. Y. Moon, J. L. Lounsbery, Sarah Schweiss, assistant professor, and A. L. Pittenger, had their article, “Preceptors and resident perceptions of entrustable professional activities for postgraduate pharmacy training,” published in Currents in Pharmacy Teaching & Learning 2018 Dec;10(12):1594-1599.

David Stenehjem, associate professor, presented "Multi-site Outcomes Research in Precision Oncology: Harnessing the Electronic Health Record” to ISPOR and AMCP student chapters on November 28, 2018.

C. Willis, J. Menon, S. Unni, T. Au, B. Ndife, G. Joseph, G. Bonifacio, E. Stein, S. Tantravahi, P. J. Shami, T. Kovacsovics, D. Brixner, and Stenehjem, presented their poster, “Emerging Real-World Midostaurin Treatment Patterns and Outcomes in FLT3-Mutated Acute Myeloid Leukemia at a Comprehensive Cancer Center,” at the American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting, held December 1-4, 2018, in San Diego, Calif.
