Music student honored at Regional Theater Festival for original composition.

Composer and senior Theory/Comp major William Brueggemann, honored with a Certificate of Achievement in Original Composition (for UMD Theatre's production of Antigone) at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival

William Brueggemann is a senior Music Theory and Composition major at UMD. As a composer, his work ranges in style from orchestral, choral, and piano to musical theater, pop music, chip tunes and film scores. His music has been performed at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts and internationally at St. Peter’s Church in Vienna. A recipient of two UROP grants, he completed his original opera, entitled Osseo: Son of the Evening Star which was performed through the UMD Opera Scenes program in December. After graduating, William hopes to attend graduate school for Media/Film Scoring
