Faculty Collaborate with Zeitgeist for "Taste of Peru"

Learn about Peru through its cuisine at "Taste of Peru" on February 5.

World Languages and Cultures (WLC) faculty Jennifer Gómez Menjívar and Andrew Snustad, along with UMD economics professor Luiggi Donayre and UMD student Álvaro Velasquez, have collaborated with the Zeitgeist to offer "A Taste of Peru," which is the fifth installment in Zeitgeist's Spirit of Duluth - Film & Dinner Series.  This event on Monday, February 5 will feature a delicious specially-prepared, four-course Peruvian dinner at 5:30 pm in the Zeitgeist´s Mezzanine. The gourmet dinner features Causa Limeña, Lomo Saltado, Ceviche & Mazamorra Morada.

The film will be De Ollas y Sueños ("Cooking Up Dreams"), a wonderful documentary that explores the ways that Peruvian cuisine reflects the varied cultural influences of Peru and helps to unify the country. (Spanish with English subtitles)

The cost for dinner and the film is $60 and tickets can be purchased Here. If you just wish to see the film, which will be shown at 7:30 in the Teatro, it is free to the public, however space is limited so you will need to reserve your tickets before the event Here.  Following the film, everyone is invited to the atrium for coffee, cookies, and post-film discussion with the curators.

We hope to see you on February 5 at the Zeitgeist!
