UMD Emerging Photographers 2019

Works selected for Duluth Art Institute exhibit.

Seven UMD students who are art majors or photography or arts in media minors were selected by Anne Dugan for this annual Duluth Art Institute exhibition. The show opens Thursday, March 21 from 6-7:30 pm and runs through May 5, 2019. The students are Michael Dahmen, Lauren Johnson, Juliet McLellan, Zach Rohweder, Reid Siebers, Stevie Twining, and Brendon Viaene.

This year, the Duluth Art Institute continues its ten-year relationship with the photography area in Art and Design at UMD to showcase emerging voices in the medium of photography.

Anne Dugan has said about the work, “The artists in the 2019 Emerging Photographers exhibition are striving for balance between a constructed reality and a search for what lies beyond perception. They employ historic techniques and contemporary digital manipulation to execute these experiments in their chosen medium."
