Bringing Campus Landscapes Back to Life!

Students are a huge part of making the UMD campus beautiful.

Winter in Duluth can be long and harsh, and snow removal, snow storage, and de-icing can take a toll on the campus grounds.  There is a lot of work to do each spring to bring the landscape back around, spruce-up green spaces, and create healthy plant communities again.

In May, the UMD Grounds crews kept busy restoring plantings, re-seeding, re-sodding, and mulching all around the campus.  Did you know that UMD students are an important part of the the crews doing landscaping work?

A few pictures are below of UMD Grounds student employees in action, restoring the campus landscape for summer!
