UMD 2017 Homecoming runs Monday, October 16 - Saturday, October 21. Check out what is going on during the week and all the events planned for students, alumni, and community members. You don’t want to miss out on all of the events happening in your backyard, especially the Homecoming Parade!
UMD’s 2017 Homecoming week never disappoints! Nearly everyone is sporting maroon and gold gear, and Bulldog pride is evident throughout campus. The week kicked off on Monday with the delicious corn roast out on Kirby Terrace - you just can’t go wrong with corn on the cob. On Tuesday, students lined up for free Top the Tater, chips, and prizes.
Today marks the middle of Homecoming week, and we're looking forward to a lot of fun activities. We have Staff and Faculty Appreciation Day going on Wednesday, Oct. 18 with the Rick Brill Memorial Kickball Game and yard games on Kirby Terrace. Friday brings the first round of Women's Volleyball games and Men's and Women's Hockey games which will amp everyone up for the weekend and get us into the Homecoming spirit.
Saturday the 21st will be one to remember! Start the day off by watching the parade sponsored by TCF Bank at 11:00 am which winds down University Drive, then make sure to stop by the family carnival over by Malosky Stadium which also begins at 11:00 am. There will be games, science experiments, prizes, food, and more! Everyone is welcome, and we would love to see you there. Kick-off starts at 1:05 pm as the Bulldogs host the Minot State Beavers. After football, head on over to Romano Gymnasium for an action-packed Women’s Volleyball game at 4:00 pm. Then it's back to AMSOIL Arena where Women's Hockey faces rival Minnesota at 3:30 pm and Men's Hockey hosts Merrimack at 7:37 pm. Have fun and GO BULLDOGS!
Saturday also hosts a few social hours down at Canal Park. Check out the Bulldogs on the Block social hour from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Old Chicago. Then head a couple doors down and check out the Grandma’s Sports Garden Block Party, which will live stream Bulldog athletic games and host all Bulldog fans. If you show proof of UMD Athletic ticket or are wearing Bulldog attire, you will receive a $1 off a beverage or meal.
