We All Belong

All campus art show is inspired by UMD’s goal of creating a more diverse, inclusive, and civil campus.

The Chancellor’s Unit Campus Climate Change Team is hosting an all-campus art show focused UMD’s goal of advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion.

“We All Belong” opens with a reception on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. in the Griggs Center, 1120 Kirby Drive. The exhibit continues throughout the Summit on Equity, Race, & Ethnicity on Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

The art was submitted by UMD’s students, faculty, and staff.

Danielle Peterson, a senior majoring in graphic design, is participating. She says she’s inspired by the show’s guidelines of including messaging about diversity, inclusion, or anti-bullying, “It’s an opportunity to share your voice and increase the campus climate at UMD.”

LeeAnn Myers, who’s helping organizing the art show, believes it gives the UMD community a sense of ownership regarding campus climate work, while sharing their own experience through art. “We hope this event inspires people to do more, to seek out ways that they can help improve the daily lives of those around them. We invite the community in to see how important this work is here at UMD, and to enjoy the artwork and live performances by our passionate students.”
