UMD Hosts 7th Annual Northland Community Wellness Day

The 7th annual Northland Community Wellness Day will be held on April 9.

The 7th annual Northland Community Wellness Day (NCWD) will be held on Saturday, April 9 from 10 am–2 pm in UMD's Romano Gym. Admission and parking are free.

NCWD is an inclusive community event that highlights local wellness resources and services through interactive exhibits, workshops, and family-friendly activities. NCWD promotes healthy families and communities through awareness and education on health & wellness, public safety, sustainability and financial literacy.


More than 75 wellness-related businesses and organizations will provide exhibits. The event features a guided hike through Bagley Park, free hearing screenings, a bicycle obstacle course (bikes and helmets provided), indoor rock-climbing, and games with the UMD athletes. 

The event also offers several presentations:

10:30–11 am      Positive Dementia Paths: Creating Confident Caregivers
11:15–11:45 am Duluth Grill: What’s in the box? Creative Cooking with CSA/Farm Share produce
12–12:30 pm      Ecolibrium3: Knowledge Saves Power (Energy Efficiency) 
12:45–1:15 pm   E3 Twin Ports: Experience the Benefits of Movement in Nature
1:30–2 pm          Duluth Police Department: K-9 Unit Demonstration
