“The fourth annual Entrepreneurship Conference at UMD is a forum that features successful local, regional, and national entrepreneurs with different ages, backgrounds, and industries. This two-day conference offers an opportunity for the students and community to hear and learn from entrepreneurial leaders who will share their stories and insights, showing that the entrepreneurial spirit comes in many forms.” says Conference Director Allie Ulland
About the Entrepreneurship Conference
The UMD Entrepreneurship Conference started in 2015 based on an idea from UMD LSBE Dean Amy Hietapelto. The conference is completely student run, with the help and guidance of Nicole Wilde, Instructor in LSBE’s Department of Marketing.
Allie Ulland, a senior at LSBE majoring in Marketing and minoring in Communication is this year’s Conference Director. “The student-run planning committee consists of 18 motivated, passionate students. As a committee, our goal was to spread the spirit of entrepreneurship, and show to students and community members that it’s something that anyone, at any age or with any background, can have," Allie says.
LSBE is accredited by the AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Less than 5% of business schools worldwide have earned this prestigious distinction. In Northeastern Minnesota, LSBE is the only school to have attained the AACSB accreditation. Its website is www.lsbe.d.umn.edu.
