Recent UMD grads Lexi Bruno and Erin Denny are returning to campus next Saturday, March 25 to share their story of circumnavigating Lake Superior last summer. They’ll be speaking in Bohannon Hall room 90, 1049 University Drive, from 7–8:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Bruno, who graduated in 2015, and Denny, ’14, launched their sea kayaks on June 4, 2016. More than one thousand miles and 76 days later, they paddled under the Lift Bridge, successful in their mission to circumnavigate Lake Superior.
Tim Bates, associate director of Recreational Sports Outdoors Program, says his former students’ story is a motivator for current Bulldogs. "The trip Erin and Lexi completed inspires students to chase their dreams of exploring spectacular places and discovering their inner strength in the process."
