Duluth high school students interested in helping the UMD community are invited to apply for UMD’s summer sustainability camp. They will harvest veggies, work with honeybees, help distribute fresh produce and more. Camp participants will also discover tips and tricks on how to live sustainably to help reduce their carbon footprint.
Students will have the opportunity to learn from sustainability experts. This event is free of charge including hands-on experience, learning about food justice issues, and visiting the UMD campus for a sustainability tour. The camps are sponsored by the UMD Land Lab, Department of Geography, and the College of Liberal Arts.
The UMD Land Lab is a food justice and environmental research and outreach center, just five miles from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Their purpose is to explore how to create a food system that meets the needs of all community members.
