In Solidarity

UMD students, staff and faculty are hosting Stand Against Sexual Assault, Fri., Apr. 7 in solidarity against sexual violence.

Sign making material will be available at the Kirby Student Center Garage, 1120 Kirby Drive, starting at 11 a.m.

Organizers plan on forming a line from the Kirby Student Center to the Kathryn A. Martin Library at 11:30 a.m. The event is scheduled to end at 12:30 p.m.

Health educator Lauretta Perry says the difference between an individual stance and this effort is tremendous. “One person or organization sending a message makes a statement.  A campus coming together to send a message establishes culture. This is why it is important that we come together– to stand united in our intolerance of any form of violence against any one of us.”

This event is being sponsored by the Women's Resource Action Center, Tau Kappa Epsilon, MPIRG, and Kirby Program Board.
