KIDSROCK is a ten week day camp that invites kids ranging in age from five to 14 to be a part of UMD’s community. Campers spend the day enjoying themed events like Color Week, Zoo Week, and Olympic Week while participating in activities like canoeing, climbing, and arts and crafts.
What’s new this year is that the specialty camps aren’t being offered. Only classic camp is happening and it’s limited to 64 campers per week.
Campers are divided into eight pods with a counselor and a homebase room, with very little interaction between the pods. Pick-up and drop-off has changed from one location to four different spots, with a health screening process happening as campers arrive.
“We know this sounds like a lot, but we are happy to be able to provide this service for our community and look forward to finding creative ways to make this summer fun and safe for all of our participants,” says Joel Sanderson, assistant director of Intramural Sports and Youth Camps.
Sanderson adds that a few spots are still available.
