UMD Hosts Holocaust Commemoration Events

Baeumler Kaplan Holocaust Commemoration committee host students on Jan. 27.

On Wednesday, Jan. 27, the Baeumler Kaplan Holocaust Commemoration committee will host students from the Northern Lights school in Superior, Wis., on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus.  

The Northern Lights students will share their Holocaust research projects in EduE 15 (the atrium of UMD’s Education Building) beginning at 10 am. A smaller group of students will perform a Holocaust play from noon-12:50 pm in EduE 20. The public is invited to view the projects and watch the play. Both events are free.

January 27 is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, and this year marks the 71st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

The mission of the Baeumler Kaplan Holocaust Commemoration is to provide resources for lectures, seminars, and presentations dedicated to informing and educating people about the Holocaust, its victims, causes, consequences, lessons, and memory.
