Work It

Bulldogs plan “Dress for Success.

The confounding questions surrounding workplace attire are being answered at Dress for Success, an event designed to give students an edge on their upcoming interviews and careers. It’s happening on Thursday, March 30 from 5–6 p.m. in Kirby Ballroom, 1120 Kirby Drive.

Organizational Management major and Dress for Success planner Gabrielle Ickert describes the event as a business attire fashion that teaches students how to dress appropriately for workplace situations. “Students will see themselves in the do’s and don’ts,” she explains.

Ikert is among 24 Labovitz School of Business and Economics and College of Liberal Arts students who divided into three committees, modeling, marketing, and event planning, to present the third annual Dress forSuccess. They’re hoping 100 UMD students will attend.

“First impressions are the entryway into a career, and we’re making sure Bulldogs have what it takes to start with confidence,” says Ickert.

The Labovitz School of Business and Economics, the College of Liberal Arts, Career and Internship Services, Yonkers, Men’s Warehouse, and Mainstream Fashions for Men are sponsoring Dress for Success. The sponsoring businesses gave the models discounts on the business attire.
