Gearing Up to Feed 3,000 Students a Day

Career fair planned as Dining Services prepares for the upcoming school year's in-person student experience.

University of Minnesota Duluth Dining Services is hosting a career fair with free food and information for hospitality professionals on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The event include takes place in the Kirby Plaza Food Court, 1208 Kirby Dr, and includes facility tours, locally-sourced, from-scratch cooking, on-sight applications and interviews, and an opportunity to learn about UMD’s educational opportunities and benefits.

“We realize that the entire hospitality industry is facing a hiring crisis,” says Tom Linderholm, UMD Dining Services assistant director of Culinary. “We have decided to create a one-stop-shop where we can not only quickly move through the hiring process but also show what we can offer our future employees including work-life balance, some really great benefits, and an opportunity to continue their education. I think professionals in the food industry would be really impressed with the cool things we are doing with food here at the University.”
