Concert on the Pier

Glensheen Mansion presents Minnesota’s famous outdoor concert series.

On July 5, Glensheen kicked off Concerts on the Pier, a free outdoor summer concert series on the shores of Lake Superior, with the local band, The Boomchucks.

Free outdoor summer concerts have been happening at Glensheen every Wednesday night in July for many years. However, two years ago marked the first time all of the bands played on the 100-foot pier extending into Lake Superior. Each of the bands has Duluth ties with a statewide and national reach making the series a showcase of Minnesota music and directly relevant to Glensheen's mission statement, "To inspire Minnesota pride by preserving and sharing the legacy of Glensheen and to serve as an incubator for positive change."

Glensheen's Pier is the best outdoor concert venue in the Northland and arguably the state with it's unique 'on-the-water' feel. Concertgoers line Glensheen’s Lake Superior shoreline while kayakers and boaters enjoy the free music on the water. Concerts on the Pier are a celebration of the Lake, local music, one of Duluth’s historic locations and Minnesota culture.
