UMD Hosting Creativity Conference

Creativity across cultures and disciplines is the focus of this annual event on Oct. 15.

UMD is hosting The 2018 Richard Paul Teske Sieur du Lhut Creativity Conference on Monday, October 15, 2018. The event starts at 7 p.m. in Bohannon room 90, 1207 Ordean Court and is free and open to the public.

The event is designed to encourage and explore the power of interdisciplinary thinking with a focus on creativity.

The two event speakers are:

Amy Whitaker

Amy Whitaker is a devoted NYU professor, mentor, and researcher at the intersection of art & business, having taught business to artists since 2003. She has spoken widely, including at Google, the Yale Club, the Princeton Club, Merck & Co., & TEDx. She is also the author of “Art Thinking & Museum Legs” and co-author of “The Social Life of Artistic Property.” Her work has been covered by the New York Times, the Financial Times, Forbes, the Boston Globe, & elsewhere.

Sura Al-Naimi

Sura Al-Naimi is the go-to expert on innovation and results-oriented human-centered design thinking for brands and organizations and co-founder of WeOverMe. She brings 16+ years of experience with start-ups as well as world-renowned brands including Walt Disney, Unilever, GSK, P&G, Levi's and Gap. She drives impact for companies and brands through the cutting edge of leadership, facilitation and training of Design Thinking process and creative behaviors.

The 2018 Richard Paul Teske Sieur du Lhut Creativity Conference is presented by the Chancellor's Office and the Labovitz School of Business and Economics with generous support provided by the Richard Paul Teske Sieur du Lhut Conference Fund.
