Dr. Ariuna Taivan, LSBE associate professor of Economics, was also inducted. BGS, the business school equivalent of the liberal arts Phi Beta Kappa, invites only those students who have earned the distinction of “The Best in Class” during their academic career and doctoral students who have completed their dissertations.
The induction ceremony was held April 12, 2018, and featured guest speaker David McMillan, chair of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents and UMD/LSBE alumnus. McMillan presented his speech “Leadership and Community Engagement.”
The evening also included the recognition of Dr. Seung Lee, LSBE associate professor of Management Information Systems, as BGS Faculty Member of the Year.

The over 400 BGS collegiate members heard from world-class speakers, gained advice and insights from thought leaders, and networked with fellow BGS members who attended from across the globe.
