ITSS has been visiting UMD campus buildings with our Duo and Donut cart to encourage UMD community members to opt-in to Duo Two Factor Protection for Direct Deposit and W-2s. If we didn't get the opportunity to assist you in person, you can still opt-in (the process takes less than 10 minutes) on your own.
Visit Opt-in to Duo Two-Factor Protection for Direct Deposit and W-2 for self-service instructions. Opting-in to Duo does not require you to remember another password rather is adds a layer of security by asking for two things to verify your identity:
- something you know (your UMD password)
- and something you have (your mobile phone, tablet or landline phone)
If you already use Duo for other University systems such as the Data Warehouse or Box, you still have to opt-in protect your W2s and direct deposit information.
