Quizzes.Next in Canvas
Canvas has built out their next generation quizzing tool, “Quizzes.Next,” alongside classic Canvas Quizzes. Quizzes.Next allows Instructors to create assessments using a variety of question types that were not available in classic Canvas Quizzes, e.g.,ordering, categorization and hot spots. Please note: Hot spot question types are not accessible via a screen reader. When all the features currently available in classic Quizzes have been added to Quizzes.Next, classic Quizzes will be retired.
Quizzes.Next assessments are created and displayed in the Assignments area and can be duplicated. Items to note:
- You can use both quiz solutions in your course site.
- You can convert classic Quizzes to Quizzes.Next but you cannot go backwards.
- At this point, question banks in classic Quizzes can not be converted to Quizzes.Next.
Quizzes.Next also supports restricting students from viewing their results after submitting an assessment.
Visit Canvas Quizzes vs. Quizzes.Next to learn more about the pros and cons of each tool.
