STEM, FEMME, and FEMINISM with Dr. Das

Northwoods Women In Science (NWIS) presents a lecture and discussion with Dr. Devaleena Das.

Can there be a feminist scientist? Is it a myth or a reality that sexism exists in STEM? Why is STEM
masculinized? Is sexism being normalized in STEM? What is happening on a global platform to support or
disprove the common gender diversity myths in the workplace?

To unfold this discussion, join Dr. Devaleena Das, associate professor, Women, Gender and Sexuality
Studies at UMD and NWIS members, as we explore the intersection of STEM and feminist theory.

Wednesday, Jan 29 at the College of St. Scholastica, 5:30 p.m., Room 3312 of the Science Building.

Non-NWIS members are welcome to attend! Refreshments provided
