Experiments in Joy workshop and Swallow the Fish talk
"What is the urgency of our invention? How do we define the undefined? How can we claim joy?" Drawing from her work with "Call & Response," an ensemble of Black Women & Performance, black feminist performance artist Gabrielle Civil will use the framework of "experiments in joy" to propose new possibilities for artmaking. Drawing from her performance practice and Swallow the Fish, her recent memoir in performance, she will suggest ways to access the body, space and current events to spark creative process.
