“We draw upon data gathered from five longitudinal case studies focused on undergraduates, graduate students, and working professionals writing in their respective disciplines and personal lives.  We challenge narrow, institutionally bounded accounts of disciplinary development and argue that such development must be studied and understood in relation to, rather than apart from, learners’ broader literate lives.”

Joe Erickson received his BA in 2004 and his MA in 2006 from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Joe then went on to pursue his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in English from Bowling Green State University, which he completed in 2011.  In addition to being an author, Joe is a faculty member at Anoka Ramsey Community College, where he received his AA degree in 2001. Learn more about Joe
