Young Artist Scholarship Competition percussion winners #UMDProud

Winners all around.

UMD percussionists rose to the top in the Thursday Musical Young Artist Scholarship Competition in Minneapolis. UMD had two musical standouts, placing first and second in the competition earlier this month. This competition consisted of many wind, brass, and percussion collegiate soloist musicians from across the Midwest, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, North, and South Dakota.

Cody Anderson, a third year music education major from Braham, Minn., placed second in the competition. Another talented UMD percussionist, Sae Bin An, from Shanghai, China, and double majoring in music performance and music education won first place.

Both students, under the instruction of Gene Koshinski and Tim Broscious, represented UMD with pride as they had excellent and moving performances that landed them at the top of the podium at this prestigious competition.
