CEHSP student spotlight: Aidan Dalzell

Meet Aidan Dalzell, social work major and president of the Bachelor of Social Work Student Association

Why did you choose UMD?

I visited Duluth in the summers when I was growing up. I fell in love with the north shore
and when I toured my senior year of high school, I knew that this was the place for me.

What do you like most about your programs?

The people. As soon as I started my social work classes, I knew that I had chosen the right
major. I love the energy and the atmosphere in the Department of Social Work. The professors are
great and the opportunities are endless.

What has been your most meaningful experience at UMD so far?

My most meaningful experience is the internship I am currently participating in. The learning
and the practical application that I can bring to both UMD and my future endeavors is beyond
exciting and useful.

What advice do you have for incoming students?

Check, double check, triple check, quadruple check that you have all your credits and all your
requirements completed. Save yourself from the worst headache you will have.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Hang out with friends. Go on walks. Play video games, have a good time, and vibe with life.
