March 2017 news from faculty and staff of the College of Pharmacy Duluth.

Amanda Klein, assistant professor, presented "Opiate Receptor Signaling and the Involvement of Potassium Channel Activity on Morphine Efficacy and Tolerance" on February 17, 2017, for the Swenson College of Science and Engineering Weekly Seminar Series at UMD.

Laura Palombi, assistant professor, has been selected as recipient of the 2017 Minnesota Campus Compact Presidents' Civic Engagement Steward Award. This award is given to a member of the faculty, administration, or staff that has significantly advanced their campus' distinctive civic mission by forming strong partnerships, supporting others' civic engagement, and institutionalizing a culture and practice of engagement. Minnesota Campus Compact Presidents’ Awards provide an opportunity for member presidents and chancellors to give statewide recognition to effective leaders in the development of campus-community partnerships. Palombi will be recognized along with other campus winners during an awards luncheon at the University of St. Thomas on April 5, 2017.
