CUE Speaker Series Kicks Off

Dr. Olaf Kuhlke speaks on "Cultural Entrepreneurship in Remote Arctic Environments."

The Cultural Entrepreneurship program in the UMD Department of World Languages and Cultures will hold the first of a series of six talks by researchers on cultural entrepreneurship on Thursday, September 13 from 5-6:00 pm in Humanities 480.

Dr. Olaf Kuhlke will discuss the potential of cultural entrepreneurship for the economic development of remote Arctic regions. Specifically, he will address the scope and goals of a recently funded research project that seeks to build a creative digital infrastructure in Arviat, Nunavut and Noorvik, Alaska. Please join us to learn about the exciting potential of creativity for the far north.

The next talk in the series is scheduled for Thursday, September 27 at the same time and location. Dr. Aparna Katre will talk about Cultural Entrepreneurship for economic development of rural communities in India.
