The event is Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Kirby Ballroom and the Garden Room (above the Student Center), 1120 Kirby Drive.
The showcase is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP).
Nearly 50 poster presentations on topics ranging from bat sounds to computer games are happening in the Kirby Ballroom, while six presentations take place in the Garden Room– one every 20 minutes from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Bulldog Shelby Harmon researched childhood mental health, prenatal stress exposure, and social and emotional development in children. “One of the best moments was seeing my UROP come together as we began collecting data,” she says.
About UROP
UMD’s UROP offers financial support for students to work with a faculty advisor on their scholarly or creative work research. These students have worked the whole semester on their projects and are ready to share their findings to the public. Each poster presentation highlights the student’s involvement in the program.
