Associate Professor Arshia Khan, Department of Computer Science, took part in a panel entitled the “Next-Generation in Leadership."
UMD's Dr. Arshia Khan, associate professor of Computer Science, was recently invited to attend the 3M Leadership Conference and participate on a keynote panel. The conference was for the top 350 global leaders at 3M, a key corporate partner for UMD and the University of MN system.
Khan participated in a six-person panel, called the “Next-Generation in Leadership,” which featured individuals who are all leaders and pioneers in technology innovations. The panelists spoke about their backgrounds, personal passions and motivations, perspectives on organizational culture, what they hope to see the workplace looking like in 10-15 years and their perceptions of 3M.
Khan’s expertise in biomedical engineering, including robotic assistive technologies which aid in the care and treatment for patients with autism and bipolar disorders and especially dementia, was of great interest to the conference attendees.
