Pfotenhauer to Perform at the Oregon Bach Festival

UMD Music Faculty, Dr. Tom Pfotenhauer, will be performing with the period orchestra at the 2022 Oregon Bach Festival on June 21 and June 27.

The festival, which was founded by Helmut Rilling in 1970, returns after a two-year pandemic-related hiatus. Although it primarily focuses on the preservation and performance of the works of J. S. Bach, the festival consists of a variety of programming and also has an educational component. More information on this year’s festival may be found at oregonbachfestival.org. Dr. Pfotenhauer has studied Baroque trumpet with Kris Kwapis and Susan Williams and has performed with professional early music ensembles throughout the United States and Canada. He is a regular performer with the Bach Society of Minnesota and is the third trumpet for the Portland Baroque Orchestra.
