He began serving as RSOP’s director on August 30, following in the footsteps of Mick McComber, who retired last fall after working at UMD for more than 40 years.
Burke has extensive experience in collegiate outdoor recreation. He comes to UMD from the University of Wyoming, where he worked most recently as assistant director of programs. His experiences included work with club sports, intramurals, and the outdoor program. In addition, Adam oversaw his department's programs related to new student engagement, program assessment, and risk management. Burke is completing a doctorate in Higher Education Administration at the University of Wyoming.
"I’m excited to engage with students, faculty, staff and the Duluth community in providing excellent programs and services around recreation, health and wellness and outdoor engagement,” says Burke.
