Kohlwey and Reindl will represent UMD at the 2019 NCAA II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Senior All-American Danielle Kohlwey and freshman Haleigh Reindl will represent UMD at the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which get underway on Thursday, May 23, at Javelina Stadium on the campus of Texas A & M University-Kingsville.

Kohlwey, a native of Onalaska, Wis., will take part in the 100-meter hurdles for the fourth year in a row, having finished third in 2018, and sixth in 2017 (attaining All-American status) after not making the finals the previous spring. Her qualifying time of 13:26 (a school record which she posted at the Drake Relays on April 26), is currently the fastest in the country. Kohlwey, the reigning NSIC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year and the recipient of UMD's Outstanding Female Senior Athlete Award dor 2018-19, captured the 60-meter hurdle title at the NCAA II indoor this past March. Kohlwey graduated earlier this month with a degree in marketing and graphic design from UMD's Labovitz School of Business and Economics

Reindl will take part in the 800-meter run, having qualified with the 15th best time (2:10.19 at the Triton Invitational last month in San Diego, Calif.) in the 20-runner field. Two weeks ago, she placed first in that event at the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Duluth.

Preliminaries for the 800-meter run are set for 6:05 p.m. Friday with the finals taking place the following night at 6:55 p.m. The 100-meter hurdles are also on Friday (6:40 p.m.) and the finals on Saturday (5:55 p.m.).

Kohlwey and Reindl departed for Kingsville on Wednesday.
