Hartley Park inspires curiosity for water management research

When Madison Olbertz was searching for graduate programs, she wanted to study in a community where she could envision herself living after graduation, a place with unique wilderness character. Duluth was the perfect fit. She’s a frequent user of Hartley Park where she walks her dog and finds her scientific curiosity inspired. Olbertz is now gathering water data in the park as part of a thesis project that will help the Minnesota DNR determine management solutions for Tischer Creek.
